It’s good to see the new Government getting to grips with motorcycling issues. New Transport Minister and Triumph Bonneville owner Mike Penning has ordered a review on motorcycle testing and training after visiting a test centre and responding to the concerns of motorcycle groups. He sound-bit one off by stating, " I am today asking riders, safety groups and motorcycle industry representatives to come forward with their ideas for how testing and training can be improved to ensure we produce safe, confident and responsible riders."
This all comes on the back of the vast crap storm the last government came under for wasting £71milion on 66 new test centres so that new riders can do emergency stops at 31.2 mph - that’s what the EU has legislated, and this cannot be done on the roads.
Penning and chums at the Department for Transport are asking for any ideas you’ve got on testing, views should be submitted by 31st July.
