There are now less than a hundred days until the opening round of the 2012 MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship at Brands Hatch over Easter weekend (6-9 April) and the teams are already working hard behind the scenes ready for pre-season testing.
Several BSB teams have targeted between the end of January and the beginning of February for initial shakedown tests as they prepare to run the new specification bikes for the first time after a busy winter of preparation. As the teams continue to plan for the forthcoming season there are already dates when several of the contenders will be out on circuit in a bid to get ahead of the opposition.
Many of the teams will then make their traditional visit to Spain as the support classes get their testing underway 100 miles west of Barcelona at the Alcarass circuit from 1-4 March. Several of the BSB contenders will kick start their Spanish test schedules at Cartagena from 1-3 March, before many will travel to Alcarass for a further four days from 4-7 March. If you are missing BSB in action then you can visit the tracks and you can also get on track with selected BSB riders giving instruction following the test at Alcarass (8-10 March) for more information click here.
There will also be two UK test dates for BSB competitors which will feature riders from across the Championship classes, with entry to the circuits free of charge for those wanting to catch an early glimpse of the 2012 challengers. The first takes place on the Brands Hatch Indy circuit on 21 March before the teams and riders head to Norfolk and the Snetterton 300 for the second date on 22 March.
Don't forget to check back regularly for all the latest testing news ahead of the opening round.
