Westmoreland hoping for change of luck
17 June 2011 - MCE Insurance British Superbike News
Motorpoint Yamaha's James Westmoreland is hoping this weekend he can finally shake off the bad luck that he has had endured recently and following the opening free practice session at Knockhill he is feeling confident that he can close in on the leading contenders.

Westmoreland currently holds the lap record in both the Sunoco British 125GP and Fuchs-Silkolene British Supersport Championship classes at the Fife circuit and after setting the fifth fastest time in the opening session he is fired up for further improvement.

Westmoreland said: "It was a normal session for us this morning and I am happy with the position but we need to get closer on the times this afternoon. This was one of the circuits we tested at pre season so I was feeling quite confident that we could be strong here. We have some changes to make to the chassis this afternoon to try and make some more improvements because we need to be on the front two rows for qualifying.

"In the past few rounds we have been unlucky with choices because of the conditions so hopefully we can turn that around here this weekend because speed wise I am happy it just hasn't quite come together in the race. I hold the 125 and Supersport lap records here still so hopefully that bodes well for Sunday."
