KYMCO hits a home run in 2010
For 2010, KYMCO posted another consecutive year of record sales with overall registrations up by a massive 29.3% on the same period last year. Healthy growth was achieved across all engine bands with moped registrations up by 35.6% and 125's up by 21.6%. In addition, KYMCO's Agility 50 consistently featured in the monthly Top 5 best selling 0-50cc table, and led the way in October and November, topping the sales registration charts.
These impressive figures demonstrate KYMCO's continued growth in the UK, which has been consistent over the last 12 years. Strategically, it also consolidates KYMCO's position as a major league brand in the UK two-wheel market, and also reflects KYMCO's global dominance in the small capacity sector.
Speaking on 2010 success, Ian Kidson, Managing Director of MASCO Limited, KYMCO's UK concessionaire, said; "The defining moment was in August, when for the first time, KYMCO was listed as a Top Ten manufacturer. MCE, is the leading provider of scooter insurance and has been working hard in partnership to provide the cheapest motorcycle insurance scheme, which has undoubtedly help produce growth for the brand. This is even more significant when you consider we only sell products in the small capacity sector! The marketplace has been very tough this year, so we are very pleased that all our hard work has paid off and we are also proud to be one of the very few manufacturers that have shown any real growth this year."
For 2011, MASCO plan to build on this success further and are actively recruiting new dealers in specific areas to support their growth plan.
