£50,000 Prize for the MCE BSB King of Brands!

MCE Insurance

This weekend the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship is heading to Brands Hatch. It's a date in the calendar that always brings excitement and anticipation having sampled a snippet of the GP circuit earlier this year when the Brands Hatch Indy circuit played host. This weekend will be the first time in 2015 the biggest ever MCE BSB grid will have the chance to take on what the complete circuit has to offer.

The excitement was intensified today when it was revealed that a unique incentive is to be added to this weekend's action. £50,000 is up for grabs for the 'King of Brands', and it's already causing excited whispers in the paddock for many teams.

The rules are outlined as follows, at the start of race two the top three riders on the grid will get the option to move to the back row and battle their way through the pack, with the overall goal of claiming first place to emulate Neil Hodgson's famous victory at Oulton Park in 2000. The highest placed rider will receive an 'MCE BSB - Monster Energy King of Brands' Trophy, as well as, if they finish in first position, £50,000 for the victor, £25,000 for second position and £10,000 for third. Any rider that accepts the challenge will receive £5,000, regardless of victory!

Double Main Season championship points will be awarded to the challengers, and they will receive regular Podium points if they manage to get into a top three position.

Another exciting bonus to this weekends MCE BSB action will be that this will mark the return of the 'free to air' live coverage of the championship on Discovery's Quest channel, available on FreeView, Sky and Virgin media. This means the coverage is free for everyone and available to people who do not have Eurosport and subsequently have to watch the ITV4 highlights - that will still be shown as usual.

The 'King of Brands' challenge is an incredible addition to the series and will make race two one to watch. There will no doubt be some thrills and spills as the three contenders battle their way through the humongous grid with their eyes on this extraordinary prize!
