Dixon to join RAF Regulars and Reserve BMW at Snetterton test

MCE Insurance

Jake Dixon will make his MCE Insurance British Superbike debut at the official Snetterton test on Wednesday and Thursday this week. The 20 year old will join the RAF Regular & Reserve BMW team on their second S1000RR alongside Alistair Seeley who recently raced the machine at the North West 200.

Ever since Dixon parted ways with Tsingtao MV Agusta earlier in the month rumours have circulated about his next move and it looks like the Dover resident is looking to move up from the Supersport class and into the MCE BSB.

As it currently stands Dixon is only testing the machine and there is no clarification on whether he will race in the Championship, however if he gets on with the bike it could pave the way for him and who knows what could be next.

Dixon said: 'I'm super excited to get a chance to move up to the Superbike class with such a competitive team. After my split with the Tsingtao Hampshire MV Agusta team, Lee and I spoke and having then gone to the team's base to meet up with him and some of the team, we came to this agreement.

'An opportunity like this doesn't come around every day but we'll do the test at Snetterton to see how I get on with the team and the bike and then we'll go from there to see if Lee wants me to ride for the rest of the season. I'm so impressed with the professionalism of the whole team in the way they do things and I can't wait to ride the BMW at Snetterton.'
