Irwin signs for second season with PBM Ducati
Glenn Irwin will return to the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship in 2017, racing for PBM Ducati for a second year having had an impressive rookie season in the series securing two podium finishes and a string of strong results.
Irwin seems to have had no issue switching from Supersport machinery to Superbike, guided by a multi title-winning team as well as receiving guidance from teammate Shane 'Shakey' Byrne in the process.
Understandably Irwin is happy to be returning to the championship in 2017, aware of the pressures that await him from a team with high expectations: 'It is really great for me to be signing for the team again and have that continuity into next season because in racing that is so important and this is a perfect platform for me to continuing developing my career.
'I look at next season with the target of improving on what I have achieved in my first year and to also be more consistent as that is so important. I know you can't underestimate this championship and the competition but I was on the podium this year and once you have done it once you can always do it if you keep pushing.
'I need to be looking at more podiums and to be consistent enough to fight for the Showdown; I know I need to keep pushing and raising the bar.'
