Kent becomes Moto3 World Champion!
21 year old Danny Kent has finally sealed the deal and become the 2015 Moto3 World Champion at Valencia, he is the first British world champion since Barry Sheene some 38 years ago!
Kent only needed to finish 14th to clinch the win at the final round of the season, however with an 18th place start it wasn't going to be a walk in the park for the Chippenham rider. Kent was forced to battle with fellow teammate Hiroki Ono which created a few nail-biting moments; however the rider completed the race in a respectable 9th place and in the process won the title.
Kent said: "It's a massive relief! We went into the last 4 races thinking we could have been champions but finally we were able to do it!"
Kent had three opportunities to bag the championship in the three rounds leading up to Valencia, however he was unsuccessful and in the process future Leopard Moto2 teammate Oliveira closed the gap.
Congratulations to Danny Kent from all of MCE Insurance - we wish you all the best in your Moto2 future! Hopefully we won't have to wait another 38 years for the next GP title!
