Lorenzo to make Ducati switch

MCE Insurance Today we received official confirmation that Jorge Lorenzo will leave Yamaha to join Ducati next season.

It has been highly speculated in recent weeks that he will make the move, even though his rival and teammate Valentino Rossi commented 'changing bikes takes balls, so Lorenzo will remain at Yamaha'. Lorenzo's move most likely has nothing to do with the quip, however it is a factor that many have pondered, will the Spaniard be courageous enough to leave a team he has been with since 2008?

We now know the answer to be yes, with a highly lucrative offer rumoured to have been put on the table for the rider. The Ducati team have not won a race since 2010 with Casey Stoner at the helm and three-time World Champion Lorenzo will hope to change that as soon as 2017 rolls around.

It is uncertain as of yet whether Ducati have made the decision of who will make way for Lorenzo at the team, Iannone or Dovizioso, or who will take the Spaniard's seat at Yamaha, which will create increased speculation and pressure on the riders shoulder's as they seek to impress in the early stages of 2016 with 2017 in mind...
