MCE BSB: Snetterton - Round Five - Race Two

MCE Insurance Shane 'Shakey' Byrne has done the double at Snetterton, his first in 2017, with Josh Brookes and Jason O'Halloran creating the exact same podium as race one.

It was Brookes who got the best start on the Anvil Hire TAG Yamaha ahead of James Ellison and Byrne. The trio stayed relatively close in the opening laps, with John Hopkins and Jason O'Halloran able to chase them down and join the battle.

Byrne made a move on Ellison on lap nine to avoid Brookes breaking away when he upped the pace, Ellison then applied the pressure right back, however lost the front at Murrays and crashed out unhurt.

On lap 14 Byrne took the lead from Brookes and pulled the pin, going on to win and complete a perfect weekend. Brookes comfortably took second, with O'Halloran and Dixon exchanging places for the final podium spot. O'Halloran went on to claim Honda Racing's first double podium.

Hopkins dropped to fifth when Jake Dixon made a move on the very last corner. Hickman, Hickman, Haslam, Guintoli and Mossey completed the top ten.
