MCE BSB: Knockhill - Round Four - Race One

MCE Insurance Jake Dixon has stunned the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship with a debut win at Knockhill, leading the race from the very first lap and storming to the flag from there.

On the opening lap Byrne and O'Halloran dropped down the order after making contact running into turn one. The action at the front was between Dixon, Mossey and Ellison until O'Halloran re-joined the leading pack and pushed Ellison into fourth. A lap later the McAMS Yamaha rider snatched the place back, however crashed out and prematurely ended his race on lap six.

Linfoot prepared for battle with his Honda Racing teammate O'Halloran and went ahead, however his excitement was short lived as he tucked the front and slid out of the race.

With this action unfolding behind them Dixon and Mossey broke away, despite his best efforts Mossey was unable to take the lead and the RAF Reserves Kawasaki of Jake Dixon met the chequered flag in an emotional moment for the first-time winner.

O'Halloran, Byrne and home hero Taylor Mackenzie all had their sights set on the final podium spot in an enthralling battle, on lap sixteen Byrne made a move at the Hairpin and held off the chasing duo to take third. O'Halloran finished in fourth with Mackenzie finishing in an impressive fifth.

Hickman finished in sixth, followed by Hopkins and Guintoli. Jackson and Laverty completed the top ten.
