Pedrosa remains at Repsol Honda

MCE Insurance It has been confirmed that Dani Pedrosa will remain at Repsol Honda for two more years, even though there has been speculation in the last few weeks that he will leave the team at the end of 2016 to join Valentino Rossi at the Movistar Yamaha team.

Pedrosa was rumoured to have been offered a contract in the Yamaha camp following news that Maverick Vinales (who is bookies favourite to take Lorenzo's seat) was set to stick with Suzuki, however it seems now that an announcement is imminent before Mugello that he will indeed join Movistar.

Pedrosa currently sits fourth in the Championship and will head to this weekend's Grand Prix and gain his 250th race start in the process.

Pedrosa said: "I'm very happy to be able to announce my renewal with the Repsol Honda Team. I'm very grateful to Honda for the trust they've shown in renewing with me for an additional two years. I think it's best for me to continue with the company I was with at my very first race. I'm happy that the negotiations have been quick, and now I can just focus on racing. I want to give 100% this weekend at the Italian GP."
