Round 2 - MCE British Superbike Championship - Oulton Park - Qualifying
Leon Haslam has once more come out on top in qualifying, bagging pole position for tomorrow's race one in the 2016 MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship at Oulton Park. Next on the grid will be his teammate James Ellison, with Jason O'Halloran making up the front row.
In the wet Superpole session an incredible five different riders held the top spot in the eight minute battle. Seeley, Iddon, Ellison, O'Halloran and of course Haslam all attempted to top the time sheets, but it was Haslam who managed to snatch the top spot on his very last run of the session.
Qualifying was certainly not without incidents, Q1 had to be red flagged after a technical problem for Glenn Irwin, but it was his fellow teammate and four-time champion Shane 'Shakey' Byrne that had the most dramatic end to qualifying. The Ducati rider had a near miss that led to him running wide, but he was able to get back out and attempt another lap, but moments later high-sided out at Knickerbrook and prematurely ended his session.
Linfoot will lead the second row, followed by Iddon and Laverty. Seeley will start seventh, followed by Kennedy, Jackson and Kiyonari making up the top ten.
