Round 3 - MCE British Superbikes - Oulton Park - Official Test
Next weekend the MCE British Superbike Championship hits Oulton Park, a fan favourite full of twists, turns and more often than not tremendous racing. The Cheshire circuit is James Ellison's local track and he will be hoping to take the lead in the series off the back of two excellent rounds at Donington Park and Brands Hatch.
It is also a firm favourite of Josh Brookes who last year set the lap record of 1:35:411, and going off his performance at the official test he isn't resting on his laurels, managing to finish half a second under last year's time. The rider who is currently sitting third in the MCE BSB standings will no doubt be hoping to capitalise on this performance in the upcoming round.
What we love most about the MCE BSB, however, is that it's very rarely without twists and turns of it's own, and with Shane Byrne, James Ellison and Stuart Easton beating last years record lap time as well it will be compelling viewing.
Ryuichi Kiyonari finished the day in 6th position, with Tommy Bridewell finishing the day in 5th place after a rocky start on the Tyco BMW they seem to be making the necessary changes and working their way towards the top of the grid. Michael Laverty also made the top 10 on the Tyco BMW.
