The MCE British Superbike series this weekend hits Oulton Park, a track full of twists and turns that never fail to delight fans and riders alike. Qualifying day did not disappoint, with fans flocking to the Cheshire circuit to watch the third round of an already enthralling series.

The day was not dampened by poor weather in the morning, with the riders hitting the drying track in the final free practice, which was overall topped by Ryuichi Kiyonari who in the dying stages put in a 1:37.106s lap, pushing Josh Brookes back into second place. Richard Cooper, racing for Anvil Hire TAG Kawasaki made up the top three.

As the day continued to brighten up, qualifying soon rolled around and the track was once more ablaze with the sound of roaring superbikes. Josh Brookes managed to set a lap under his current circuit record of 1:34:946 putting him in pole position for tomorrow's race one. Tommy Bridewell, however, did everything he could to knock the Milwaukee Yamaha rider of the top spot, finishing just 0.014s behind him. Stuart Easton put in an impressive final lap making up the front row of the grid and pushing Kiyo down into the second row, joined by the reigning Champ Shakey Byrne and James Ellison who will no doubt be looking to add another win to his already impressive start to the Championship.

Oulton Park is a fan favourite to many, and today demonstrated why! Full of incredible laps and awe-inspiring speeds, if qualifying day is anything to go by, tomorrow is going to be a great one!
