Round 4 - MCE British Superbike Championship - Knockhill - Friday Free Practice

Today the MCE British Superbike Championship returned to Knockhill for round four of the 2016 season. It was Luke Mossey who hit the ground running, topping free practice one in the final moments of the session with Leon Haslam over 0.2s behind.

Laverty had the best start to the session however Haslam rocketed his JG Speedfit Kawasaki to the top spot with ten minutes remaining. The top 18 were covered by 0.9s, which is a clear indication that the Scottish circuit will provide some competitive racing this weekend.

O'Halloran and Linfoot put their Honda's in fourth and fifth position, followed by Byrne, Iddon, Ellison and Bridewell making up the top ten.

Free practice two went the way of Michael Laverty, however the Tyco BMW rider had Shane 'Shakey' Byrne pushing until the very end of the session, he had to settle for second however, narrowly missing off the top spot by a slight 0.036s!

It was Hickman who made the quickest start, however as the session progressed the times got quicker and quicker, and he finished the session seventh. Haslam finished in third place, he was second for a short while, however Byrne made his intentions for the weekend clear and forced him off the second spot.

Mossey, Hopkins and Linfoot made up places four to six, with Iddon, O'Halloran and Cooper making up the top ten.
