Friday's two free practice sessions saw Shakey Byrne finish top in both, heading into today's qualifying undoubtedly confident. However, Brookes and Ellison took 2nd and 3rd in both of yesterday's sessions and will be looking to improve on that, meaning it's going to be a day full of battles and determination - and we expect nothing less from what has already been a riveting series so far!

As the MCE British Superbike fans descended upon Snetterton the paddock was already roaring with anticipation for the mornings free practice. It was James Ellison that managed to finish the session on top, followed by Brookes and Byrne. With the three riders names all filling the top three positions in all three free practices, the question must be asked, will it be a three horse race? O'Halloran and Bridewell made up the top 5, Walker pipped Parkes to the 6th place position by an incredibly slight 0.001s.

The gap between the morning session and qualification was fun filled for Club MCE members who were treated to an on track ride with Big Ed. They were also accompanied by Shane Byrne who momentarily switched to four wheels in one of the Zenos cars that can be seen at the MCE tent. As well as this Josh Brookes visited the bustling tent to speak to members and answer all of their questions. If that wasn't enough there were pillion and safety car laps for anyone who was brave enough!

Before we knew it qualifying had rolled around and the paddock was once more alive with the sounds of superbikes! As ever it was full of twists and turns with Linfoot crashing out unhurt in the early stages of the session, however due to minimal damage to the bike he was able to return to the pit and repair the damage before heading back out. James Ellison also crashed out in Q2 however due to the extent of the damage the JG Speedfit Kawasaki he was unable to get back out, meaning he will start tomorrow from 10th position.

The final qualifying session finished with Shane Byrne in first position, with Honda riders O'Halloran and Linfoot making up the rest of the front row. Josh Brookes was pushed back to the second row where he will be joined by Tyco BMW riders Bridewell and Laverty.

Things are hotting up here at Snetterton! Can Shakey keep up his current form or will the Honda boys throw a spanner in the works? With the nail biting races that the championship has provided so far this year, tomorrow is surely going to be another incredible one! Bring it on!
