Round 9 - MCE British Superbike Championship - Oulton Park - Race One

MCE Insurance The JG Speedfit Kawasaki team have begun their triple-header campaign at Oulton Park in style, with all three of the teams riders landing themselves on the race one podium - the first time in MCE BSB history a team has ever locked out the top three spots.

It was Byrne that made the best start, however Ellison soon took the lead and looked comfortable there holding the three-time champ off. Bridewell pushed hard as he made his way up the order, however he crashed out heavily, prematurely ending his race - as well as his showdown contention.

Haslam made his way through the pack, overtaking Byrne and managing to make a move stick on Ellison on the ninth lap. The front three broke away, however Byrne dropped back to ninth position soon after, managing to save a highside but embarking on an off-track excursion in the process.

Christian Iddon crashed out at Brittens putting his showdown campaign in jeopardy. Glenn Irwin crashed unhurt at Lodge, ending his chances of being in the Showdown six.

Haslam finished the race first, with Ellison close behind. Peter Hickman managed to force himself into third place and celebrated with his two JG Speedfit Kawasaki teammates soon afterwards.

O'Halloran finished fourth, followed by teammate Linfoot. Cooper, Mossey, Laverty, Byrne and Jackson made up the top ten.
