Round 9 - MCE British Superbike Championship - Oulton Park - Race Three

MCE Insurance Leon Haslam has completed the dream weekend, leaving Oulton Park with three race wins under his belt. He will head to the showdown with the Championship lead, with Shane 'Shakey' Byrne just three points behind!

It was an incredible race of which Jason O'Halloran made the best start, however Ellison soon took the lead as he continued his weekend of impressive form. Luke Mossey was close behind as he battled to confirm his showdown place.

The riders bunched up when the Safety Car was deployed due to Jake Dixon having a massive crash at Hizzys. When the race resumed both O'Halloran and Ellison were forced to retire from the race, both experiencing problems with their bikes - both riders have their showdown spots confirmed, however.

Dan Linfoot crashed out of fifth place, visibly upset that his showdown spot may be in jeopardy, however frantic maths from the commentary team confirmed that as it stands his showdown spot was safe with Mossey on the podium and Laverty fourth.

Haslam finished first, followed by Luke Mossey who in the process confirmed his showdown spot. Tommy Bridewell completed the podium. Michael Laverty finished fourth, narrowly missing out on a showdown spot. Byrne finished fifth, followed by Cooper, Hickman and Jackson. Iddon and Parkes completed the top ten.
