Round 9 - MCE British Superbike Championship - Oulton Park - Race Two

MCE Insurance Leon Haslam made it two in a row at Oulton Park, moving two Podium Points behind Shane Byrne who crashed out of the race following a rare mistake.

Haslam made the strongest start, however Ellison moved to the front soon after and lead the pack. Whilst this action unfolded, Byrne, who had made a poor start, crashed out at Hizzys on lap five prematurely ending his race and putting Haslam in a position to close the podium point gap.

Haslam began his attack, overtaking Linfoot soon after and making a move stick on his teammate three laps later. Haslam defended well and went on to victory with Ellison and Linfoot joining him on the podium.

The riders who will make the showdown will go down to the very last race to be decided, with a fascinating battle emerging behind the leading three. O'Halloran sealed fourth position, it was Mossey who strengthened his showdown bid, securing fifth despite a couple of moments which resulted in him dropping down the order.

Bridewell finished sixth, followed by Hickman who is also battling for a showdown spot of his own. Dixon finished eighth, followed by Irwin and Kiyonari.
