Victory Gives an Electric Shock
Victory Motorcycles this week announced that they will be competing in this year's Isle of Man SES TT Zero Electric race. Fans of both the manufacturer and the event rejoiced at the news, this will be the global debut for an electric Victory motorcycle, and with William Dunlop and Lee Johnston swapping the roar of a superbike for an electric buzz it will no doubt be incredible!
Director of Motorcycle Product Gary Gray spoke to MCN, saying, "Everyone has told us we're too late to be going to the island, but that just makes us want to do it more".
General Manager of Victory, Rod Krois followed, "the entire Victory team is excited to make history with this effort" and before a tyre even hits the circuit they will have achieved that goal, being the first time Victory Motorcycles has entered a professional motorcycle-racing event in Europe, let alone on an electric motorcycle.
William Dunlop said "I'm more than excited to race this prototype at the Isle of Man" and that the 37.73mile circuit is one of "the greatest tests in motorcycle racing".
Electric motorbikes are quickly gaining respect in the riding community and Victory's entry in the race will be bolstered by Parker, the world's leading diversified manufacturer of motion and control technologies and systems. This means that Victory will most likely be coming to the TT with an already competitive machine, here at MCE we can't wait to see what it can do, on appearance alone it's already gained a number of fans at Big Ed HQ!
