Your showdown six are decided!

MCE Insurance

Last weekend the MCE Insurance British Superbike showdown six were decided at Oulton Park, it actually came down to the very last race for the results to be finalised. These six have instantly been bumped up to 500 points in the championship and had their podium points added on to the figures, meaning that one of these six riders will be victorious when the series hits Brands Hatch for the very last round of 2015!

Here are the six title fighters and their hopes as they head to Assen:

Josh Brookes - Milwaukee Yamaha - 1st - 553 Points

"When we are all lined up in the Showdown I will be giving it everything to try and win which is always my approach and plan and that will continue until the end of the year. I have high hopes for Assen now, but anything can happen."

Shane Byrne - PBM Kawasaki - 2nd - 551 Points

"We will regroup again after this weekend so we are ready for the Showdown at Assen. We need to do everything we can do be in the position to go out and attack in the last three rounds as you can't do anything else now."

James Ellison - JG Speedfit Kawasaki - 3rd - 522 Points

"With the riders who've made it and Yamaha, Kawasaki, BMW and Honda all in the Showdown, it's going to be epic. My job now is to focus on getting in the best position I can for Assen and claw back those points"

Tommy Bridewell - Tyco BMW - 4th - 507 Points

"The weekend is a massive credit to the whole Tyco BMW team! We have two riders in the Showdown, which no other team has done, so again that's credit to the whole team"

Dan Linfoot - Honda Racing - 4th - 507 Points

"Sixth place in the final race just moved us into the Showdown and it's a huge relief to walk away from Oulton Park with a place! Hopefully now we can go into the final three rounds with a little less pressure on our shoulders and try to fight for some more podiums."

Michael Laverty - Tyco BMW - 6th - 500 Points

"That's the first objective of the season completed, getting both riders into the Showdown, which is a huge achievement for the Tyco BMW team. We got the job done and we will push hard now in the final three rounds and come out fighting at Assen in a fortnight"

Brookes and Byrne have a clear lead in the title fight with only two points separating them; however with seven races remaining anything could happen.

Ellison and Linfoot have missed out on a notable portion of the season due to injury and if they are back to full fitness we may see their competitive streak emerge and scrap for wins. The Tyco boys cannot be ruled out, either, the bike has gone from strength to strength this season and with two extremely capable and ambitious riders at the helm they will undoubtedly be looking to put their stamp on the remaining seven races of the season.

The next round of the MCE BSB hits Assen where the Showdown will kick off in style - let's see what they can do! Bring it on!
