Big Ed hits the big screen

MCE Insurance

There has rarely been a more thrilling climax to a sporting event in Britain that the last round of the 2011 MCE Insurance British Superbike Series. Tommy Hill's last lap victory over John Hopkins by 0.006 seconds was more like the end to a movie script than a season's racing. Luckily, all the action was being captured on camera and has now been made into a feature-length film, under the title of 'I, Superbiker 2'.

The world premiere of this action-packed movie took place last Wednesday and the UK's Number One provider of motorcycle insurance was there to soak up the front-row action.

There were numerous stars in attendance at the London premiere, including MCE BSB riders Jon Kirkham, Peter Hickman, Simon Andrews, Gary Mason and of course, the champion Tommy Hill. Also on the red carpet were celebrity bike fans Charley Boorman and former Olympian Derek Redmond as well as 2012 Olympic High Jump hopeful Ben Challenger.

MCE's Big Ed also ran a competition on his facebook page with two pairs of tickets up for grabs, giving some lucky MCE Insurance policy holders exclusive access to the film's guest list.

Speaking at the premiere, MCE BSB champion Tommy Hill enthused; "It is great to see the emotions from the final round all over again, especially as during an event you are 'in the zone' and it's something that as a rider I missed. It is emotional when you see the reactions from your family, girlfriend, friends and all of the fans on the big screen."

Cinemas across the country will be screening I, Superbiker 2 for two nights only on Tuesday 21st February and Thursday 1st March. Check your local cinema for screening times and go along to watch the most thrilling season in MCE BSB history play out on the big screen, not forgetting to keep an eye out for Big Ed, who pops up throughout the film.
