Comic Relief comes to MCE
On Friday the 15th of March down at MCE Insurance HQ something was different. The office was filled from floor to ceiling with red decorations and the team themselves were also decorated red. That could mean only one thing; Red Nose Day was with us!
Once again the UK's number one provider of motorbike insurance got behind one of the biggest fundraising nights of the year with members of the team volunteering to take donations.
The night saw Big Ed making an appearance in the call centre along with the legendary MCE British Superbikes rider Chris 'the stalker' Walker. Walker took part in a live question and answer session with his fans direct through Big Ed's Facebook page and also took some donations on the phones.
Julian Edwards, MCE's Group Chief Executive commented: "We are proud to have been associated with such a worthy cause as Comic Relief. It was great to see so many of the MCE team volunteer to take donations as many of them had done a full days work but were committed to staying till midnight and in the name of charity. As a call centre, we raised a fantastic amount in excess of £66,000 in donations, which makes all the effort totally worthwhile". He added, "I would also like to thank Chris Walker for taking time out of his busy schedule to support the cause."
