MCE BSB: Oulton Park - Round Ten - Race Two
After his debut win in the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship last week, Dan Linfoot has doubled up today at Oulton Park with a fantastic last lap move over Leon Haslam.
It was Leon Haslam who got the best start, ahead of Jake Dixon who was able to push the RAF Regular and Reserves Kawasaki ahead of the JG Speedfit Kawasaki rider in the opening lap. Byrne, who started from the fourth row was soon making the moves through the pack, breaching the top ten by the second lap.
Dixon led Linfoot, Haslam, Iddon and Hopkins in the opening stages - the latter rider crashed out unhurt soon after, unable to replicate his podium from race one.
Haslam made a move on Linfoot as Ray joined the pack in an impressive display from the Suzuki rider. On lap 10 Haslam hit the front on the brakes at Lodge - Dixon then began dropping back and Linfoot made the move into second and began to pressure Haslam.
Linfoot and Haslam swapped places a couple of times in the latter part of the race, it was Linfoot who made a move on the last lap and made it stick, crossing the line with Haslam only 0.054s behind. Bradley Ray bagged his debut MCE BSB podium, the 15th different podium finisher in the 2017 MCE BSB season.
Hickman finished fourth, followed by Brookes and Dixon. Byrne finished seventh, with O'Halloran, Iddon and Ellison making up the top ten.
