Small Harley on the way
Harley Davidson is known for big engine custom motorcycles but now it's been announced that a smaller model is on the way and that they are looking at electric bikes.
It's been a troublesome few years for the American Motorcycle giant; the economic downturn meant they had to do a lot of restructuring and rethinking. They sold off Buell motorcycles to gain more cash flow and now it seems they are moving away from their roots and trying something different. The re-birth of Indian Motorcycles is sure to have had a few people at Harley wondering how they can be different also now there's another main contender in their sector.
The bike planned will be sub-500cc aimed at entry level riders. Details on the motorbike are yet to be released but Harley's President and Chief Operating Officer Matt Levatich who has ridden the bike had this to say, "It's nimble, light weight, has a low seat height, supple throttle and braking, looks great, sounds great, priced right and it's a Harley."
