We are an independent insurance intermediary. We act on your behalf in arranging your insurance. Our service includes: advising you on your insurance needs; arranging your insurance cover with insurers to meet your requirements; and helping you with any ongoing changes you may have. As part of our service, we will assist you with any claim you need to make. We also issue policies on behalf of certain insurers. We offer a wide range of personal insurance products and have access to leading insurers in the market place. For some types of insurance we deal exclusively with a single insurer, which we have selected as offering value for money. We normally accept payment by credit/debit cards. You may be able to spread your payments by way of credit agreement instalments. We will give you full information about your payment options when we discuss your insurance in detail. As an agent of your insurer, we will hold your money in trust until such time as it becomes payable to the insurer. MCE is authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority, (FSA).
All calls may be recorded for training and monitoring purposes. All personal information is treated by us as confidential and is processed in accordance with relevant legislation. We will use and disclose the information we hold about you in the normal course of arranging and administrating your insurance. We may use the information we hold about you to provide information to you about other products and services that we, our sister companies within MCE Insurance or other reputable companies may offer, which we feel may be appropriate to you. If you do not wish to receive this information please inform us. Under the Data Protection Act 1998 you have the right to see personal information about you that we hold in our records. To obtain this information please write to the Compliance Manager enclosing a £10.00 cheque made payable to MCE Insurance
We reserve the right to withdraw premium indications before they are taken up and to apply any changes notified to us by the underwriters after the indication was given.
To provide complete and accurate information to us/insurers when you take out your insurance policy, throughout the life of your policy, and when you renew your insurance. It is important that you ensure that all statements you make to us/insurers and our claims department are full and accurate. Please note that if you fail to disclose any material information to your insurers, this may invalidate your insurance cover, and may mean that part or all of a claim may not be paid.
In consideration of being granted temporary insurance cover under the policy without providing proof of your no claims bonus, should the proof be requested by us/insurer you will forward on demand. Should you be unable to produce such proof: you will pay the increased premiums as requested by us, failing this we shall be entitled to cancel your policy. In the event of such a cancellation, you will pay a time on risk charge based on the premium and a cancellation fee
If we insure your motor vehicle under a chassis number, you agree to supply us with the registration number within 5 days of the inception date of the policy to enable compliance with MID regulations. Failure to supply the registration within this timeframe will result in the cancellation of your policy.
Once you have entered into this insurance contract with us, you are entitled to 14 days to decide whether you wish to proceed with the policy or have any query with any aspect of your cover. This is known as a "Cooling off Period", and this commences from either; the day of conclusion of the contract or the day on which you receive the full documentation, detailing the full contractual terms, conditions and other information to the contract, whichever is later. A pro rata charge will be made for this period of cover by your insurer (unless otherwise specified in policy book) and MCE will also make a £30 charge to cover the administration costs of setting up and cancelling the policy. You may cancel this insurance at any time by returning the Certificate of Insurance to us along with your instruction to cancel the insurance. Please be aware that cancellation refunds are not normally given after the event of a claim. If there has not been a claim in the current period of insurance a refund will be made in accordance with the scale within the policy book. If you are replacing the cancelled policy through MCE we will not make any administration charges, otherwise we make a minimum of £30 charge or an amount equal to the commission within the refund as this was earned for arranging the policy. We do not refund instalment or administration charges. Please note that outside the cooling off period, it is not possible to cancel Uninsured Loss, Personal Accident or Breakdown Recovery policies, these policies are non-cancellable and no refund of the premium will be made.
If you cancel your policy and you are paying your premium by way of credit agreement instalments, there may be a balance outstanding if you have not paid enough instalments to cover the cancellation charges as above. Should an amendment occur to the contract that results in a refund of premium, this will be returned to the debit/credit card by which you paid or issued as a cheque in the policy holders name to the address held on our system.

In the unfortunate event of a claim, where you are paying your premium by credit agreement instalments, any outstanding balance on your account becomes immediately payable. Should instalments not be met on the date due, a charge of £10 will be made each time. Please contact us immediately if you have any difficulty meeting any payments due. In the event of any outstanding debt to MCE Insurance, we reserve the right to instruct debt recovery agents to pursue on our behalf to which further charges will be incurred.
If you currently make payments through credit agreement instalments and we are in a position to offer insurance to you for a further year, a renewal invitation containing a quote for new insurance and relevant monthly payments will be sent to you approximately three weeks before the current policy is due to expire. If you are happy with the quote and wish to renew, there will be nothing further for you to arrange. If you do not wish to accept the quote please contact us at any time up to the renewal date. If we do not hear from you to the contrary, we will assume you are happy for us to proceed with the renewal, issue new documentation and renew your credit agreement.
This agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the Laws of England and Wales.
