When you take out an MCE policy, you may need to agree to download the MCE App to submit important documents to validate your policy.

Validating your policy reduces fraud, keeps premiums low, and ensures your information is correct and your policy is valid. It means that should you ever need to claim, we have your information and can get straight to work.

How do I download the MCE App?
We’ve put a [quick guide] together for you which should answer any questions that you may have.

How do I validate my policy?
Simply download our mobile app, complete the initial login steps and then follow the in-app instructions. We’ll let you know if there’s anything else we need.

When do I need to validate my policy by?
MCE require validation documents to be uploaded using the mobile within 14 days of purchasing your policy.

What if I don’t have a smart phone?
We inform all customers when they take a policy out whether they will be required to download the MCE Validation App. If you have taken out a policy and do not have a smart phone, please contact customer services as soon as possible.

I won’t be able to give you the documents in time, can I give them to you at a later date?
You have 14 days to validate your insurance, if you are unable to do this within that period please call us and we will take you off cover.

After I submit, how will I know if my policy is validated?
We will text you to let you know when we have validated your policy. If we encounter an issue with your submissions – such as the image quality – we will contact you to let you know the next steps.

What documents do I need to give you?
The documents we’ll need are specific to your policy and the information you have provided us. When you log into the app the documents that we need will be shown to you on the front page.

Can I delete the app after I’ve validated my policy?
We don’t recommend deleting the app during your policy – it can be useful when making a claim or breaking down, or even checking when your policy is due to expire.

I’ve tried to validate my policy through the app but I can’t.
Please call us as soon as you can and we try and help you validate your policy.

How to Provide your ‘Licence Check’ Results in Ten Simple Steps

1. Fill in your Driving Licence Number – it’s the long number on the front of your licence.

2. It will then ask that you put in your ‘National Insurance Number’ – you can find this on documents such as your National insurance card, payslip, P60, your benefits Information, your tax return

3. Enter your postcode in the box below. It’s the postcode of where you have registered your driving licence to

4. When you have entered all of this information, check the ‘I agree’ box and click view now

5. On the second page that appears, click on ‘Get your check code’

6. Click on the green ‘Get a code’ button

7. A green box will appear that will say ‘Your check code is” followed by a few letters. It looks like this:

8. Click ‘Print or save a driving summary”

9. If correct, page three will appear and you should see a synopsis of your licence. Click the red ‘Use this Document’ bar at the bottom, it looks like this:

10. The next page will have a blue bar at the bottom that looks like this – it means you’re validated!

This is process for submitting MyLicence check results to the app if the standard process does not work. For this process to work the customer needs to already have obtained a Share Code and the last 8 digits of licence number.

1. Retrive a check code by either calling the DVLA or getting a check code from your computer using the MyLicence Check service provider by gov.uk

2. Once you have a check code on the app, click on the link to “check someone else’s driving licence information”.

3. Click the green “Start Now” button.

4. Enter the last 8 digits of your driving licence number

5. Enter the check code you should have already generated. It is case sensitive.

6. Click on the green “Check licence” button

7. Click on the link to “Save or print this licence”

8. Make sure you click on “Use This Document” at the bottom of the page. (If you don’t do this, you will need to go over the first ten steps again.)
