Ellison battles back but it ends in tears

It was great to see James Ellison back in the paddock this weekend and back on his GBmoto Kawasaki hoping to fight for his showdown spot.

After an unusual crash back at Brands where he ran wide fracturing his femur (an old injury) it looked like his chances may be gone but he vowed to be back in action for Cadwell.

2 rounds passed and we watched Ellison's recovery closely, operations and time in the hyperbaric chamber on the Isle of Man and things looked pretty good amazingly.
After only 3 weeks he was back at Cadwell and hoping to race. Officials cleared him and all looked set to be ok.

After the free practice sessions though Ellison could clearly be seen to be struggling. He went out for Q1 but decided with a heavy heart to pull out of the rest of the weekend due to the pain. This was a huge blow for him as everything he had been working towards had just been snatched from him.

There is still a chance he could make the showdown but he'll have to be very strong at Donington and hope others ahead of him crash out. Either way the uphill struggle continues for him.
