What’s the problem with Josh Brookes?

Josh has been in MCE BSB for 5 years, he's been a runner up nearly every year always seeming to just miss out on the title. This year he made a massive change and moved manufacturers to the Milwaukee Yamaha, all looked set for what could be the year he finally did it.

But in the pre-showdown season which Josh sees as unimportant he made a lot of mistakes that we weren't used to seeing. Crashes in warm ups, qualifying and the races have left the rider with a mixed palette of results.

This inconsistent form came to light at the first weekend of the showdown at Assen. Failing to make the grid in race 1 followed by a crash cost him some vital championship points. Yes he had a mechanical failure in race 2 but if his race 1 had been better, which we know it could have been, things would have been a lot different.

As Josh says himself it's all about the last three rounds...maybe it’s not...maybe it's the preparation for the last three rounds that's important. We'll see if he can do anything to salvage his campaign at Silverstone but he's certainly on the back foot now.
