Big Eds Blog - Roll on 2017!
That's it, the show season has come to a close and it's kind of bittersweet, truth be told. I love the shows, from our very first outing at the NEC to the final weekend in Scotland we turned up, set up the stand and do our thing - however, it means the 2017 MCE BSB is looming...!
The team we had with us this year was stronger than ever, our goal was simple, to turn up and talk to as many people as possible and try and get them sorted with the very best policy. This year we smashed records at every single show, this is due to a mix of a product that sells itself and a group of people who are fantastic at what they do.
I went to the NEC, the Excel, Belfast and Scotland, and each one was different but fantastic in its own way. London has the bustle, the roar of the Ducati's/H2 firing up - whereas Belfast had an intimate vibe of a real biking community with a shared passion. I loved every one, my role was literally to walk around and look at bikes and talk to you guys about them, I'm legitimately waiting for someone to notice that my job is just a bit too fun...
The Norton V4 stands out in my mind as a personal highlight, I was also a big fan of the Triumph Bobber as well as the new Yamaha R6, I'm dying to throw that around a track sometime soon...
So yeah, in summary it's been a busy winter as ever, and as always I've loved every minute. Next up for me is the official test day at Donington, followed by the first round of the 2017 MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship. That's where the real work starts - the fun of standing and staring at bikes will soon be forgotten when I'm watching superbikes fly by in the blink of an eye. I honestly can't wait.
The MCE BSB could not be any more competitive this year, in my opinion. Brookes is back, the Byrne/Haslam battle will inevitably start up again before we know it, Mossey is going well, the new 'Blade/GSXR's are in the mix and there are a whole list of riders who have fire in their bellies.
I can't wait, if I know one thing for certain it's going to be one to remember! Hopefully I'll see you there!
