Big Eds Blog - Roll on Knockhill
This weekend the MCE British Superbike series is heading to Knockhill and I have a feeling it's going to be one to remember! I always love heading up to Scotland, from the scenery to the always impressive turnout, it's certainly one to remember.
The circuit itself is technical and challenging so riders will have to work hard for their championship points this weekend. It is also the destination that Kiyonari turned his series around last year when he claimed his first victory, the first of his epic resurgence and title challenge. I can't deny there's part of me that wants a return to form for the Buildbase BMW rider, his season so far has been one to forget and I'm sure he will be heading up to Knockhill hoping to demonstrate to both the paddock and no doubt himself that he still has what it takes to bag a podium finish that has eluded him so far in 2015.
However it won't be easy for the three time champion, with the likes of Shane Byrne, Josh Brookes and James Ellison making clear their intentions it's certainly not going to be a walk in the Scottish hills. Jason O'Halloran also made his mark at Snetterton with two podium finishes, as well as Stuart Easton and Tommy Bridewell who make up the showdown six. They certainly won't be willing to give up their spots any time soon!
If you were to ask me my predictions for the race podiums this weekend I'd struggle to give you an answer. This isn't a three horse race this year, it's a pack of riders all of a high calibre who are bringing their 'A' game to every weekend and it's fantastic to see!
I can't wait for this weekend, Knockhill never disappoints and you never know how the action will unfold! Catch you trackside!
