Hickman joins JG Speedfit Kawasaki
As MCE reported in October GBmoto are now the Official factory Kawasaki team and will be looking to compete in the Isle of Man TT and possibly other road racing events - as well as the MCE British Superbike Championship.
It was confirmed today that the fastest ever Isle of Man newcomer Peter Hickman will join James Ellison on the 2016 ZX-10R for what promises to be his best chance of a MCE BSB championship title so far in his career.
Hickman re-joins the team, having first raced for them back in 2013 on their then Honda machinery, finishing eleventh overall.
The Louth-based rider will commence his 2016 pre-season preparations immediately in Aragon alongside the World Superbike team who will also be putting the new Ninja through its paces.
Having claimed three podium finishes this season Hickman stands in good stead for a strong finish in 2016, in both the MCE BSB as well as his IOMTT campaign. He says: "I am really excited to be joining the JG Speedfit Kawasaki team, especially as we have the new ZX-10R to be let loose on and it looks like a real weapon! I am really looking forward to this new challenge and to be part of the official Kawasaki team in MCE BSB for me is like a dream come true - I can't wait to get started. For sure this is the biggest opportunity I have ever had in the championship and I am ready to do the best job I possibly can for myself and the team."
