Iddon to compete in Suzuka Eight Hour

MCE Insurance Christian Iddon is set to become the sixth MCE BSB rider to join the Suzuki Eight Hour Grid. The annual event is already packed full of talent from the Championship with Leon Haslam, Jason O'Halloran, Dan Linfoot, Josh Brookes and Sylvain Guintoli set to compete.

The Tyco BMW rider will join Daisaku Sakai and Raffaele De Rosa in the BMW Motorrad39 team and so will be able to hit the ground running with the same manufacturer that he uses in the MCE BSB championship.

Christian Iddon last month hinted that he may be interested in competing in the MCE Ulster Grand Prix if the opportunity may arise, so this may not be the first time we see Iddon in a different paddock in the near future...

Iddon said: 'I am really looking forward to the race as it will be a new experience for me. I have always wanted to race at the Eight Hour event and it is a great honour to be asked to take part. I have never raced in endurance before so I am looking forward to the new challenge.'
