Kiyonari to miss Brands Hatch Finale

MCE Insurance

Buildbase BMW have announced that Ryuichi Kiyonari will not be racing for the final round of the MCE British Superbike Season at Brands Hatch.

No reason has been given as to why he will not race, however the three-time-champ has had a disappointing season to say the least, currently sitting in 19th position in the championship. The press release from Buildbase BMW was as brief as 'The team's third rider, Ryuichi Kiyonari, will not be riding this weekend'.

Kiyo's management company Speed of Japan have confirmed that the injury that ruled him out of Assen isn't the reason that he will miss the final round, but due to the decision made by Buildbase BMW.

Kiyonari spoke to the media regarding the decision: 'I am all ready and prepared to race at Brands Hatch this weekend. I have discussed with the team that I want to race. I regret to say that the team has made the decision to pull me out, so there's nothing I can do about that. I will still be at the circuit during race week. I apologize to all my fans and supporters that I won't be able to race at Brands Hatch.'

It's a disappointing end to what has been a disappointing season for the rider, hopefully he will return to the MCE BSB paddock in 2016 to fight for his fourth title.
