MCE BSB: Donington Park - Round One - Race Two

MCE Insurance Leon Haslam has done the double at Donington and bagged fifty points as his Championship got off to the perfect start this weekend.

It was returning rider Josh Brookes who got the holeshot in the race, fighting off Haslam, Mossey and Laverty in the opening lap. Laverty moved up to third, pushing back JG Speedfit Kawasaki rider Mossey, however the action was shortlived for the McAMS Yamaha rider who was forced to retire due to a technical issue.

Ellison moved into third with Haslam in his sights, he was able to get ahead of him on the start/finish straight when his former teammate looked over his shoulder and in the process lost his spot.

Ellison's second place hopes were shortlived, however, with Haslam forcing his way back in front of the McAMS Yamaha rider on the following lap and making it stick.

With five laps remaining Haslam made his move on Brookes and forged a 2.7s advantage on the rider before crossing the finish line and ending his weekend in the dream way.

Glenn Irwin was able to complete the podium with a final charge through the trio of Mossey, Iddon and Ellison.

Iddon finished fourth, followed by Mossey and Ellison. Guintoli finished seventh, with Hickman, Giugliano and O'Halloran completing the top ten.
