Shane Byrne has taken his first win on his 2016 Ducati and in the process become the fifth different winner in the first six races, an unprecedented statistic demonstrative of the talent in the MCE BSB paddock.

Mossey and Ellison once more lead the pack heading into the first corner, with Byrne able to get off to a far better start than he did in race one, however only in eighth place he had some work to do to get up to the top spot on the small and compact circuit. Mossey and Ellison had a fantastic battle in the opening stages, unwilling to give up the top spot.

Mossey dropped back a couple of places just as the safety car was deployed due to Laverty's Tyco BMW smoking heavily and ending his weekend prematurely.

When the race resumed Ellison was forced to retire just a few laps later with a technical issue with the motorcycle. Mossey dropped back allowing Cooper and Haslam to take his place in the fight. As this was going on Byrne was making his way through the pack overtaking Mossey and Haslam with only Cooper left in his sights. He overtook the Buildbase rider at Clearways on the inside and then held on to the lead to take his first win of 2016 in the process.

Cooper finished second with Haslam on the podium. Bridewell finished fourth followed by Linfoot, O'Halloran and Iddon. Hickman, Easton and Mossey made up the top ten.
