Round 9 - MCE British Superbike Championship - Oulton Park - Qualifying
Shane 'Shakey' Byrne has fired his Ducati onto pole position for race one at Oulton Park, he will be joined on the front row of the Cheshire circuit by Tommy Bridewell and Leon Haslam.
The heavily anticipated Superpole session had to be ruled out due to potential rain on the circuit, so nine riders headed out for the final qualifying session. Showdown contenders Dan Linfoot and Michael Laverty were unable to set a lap time in Q2 and will start race one in tenth and eleventh place.
It was James Ellison who went fastest in the early stages of Q3, however O'Halloran was able to go quicker soon after. Then the times began to topple and Bridewell fought his way to the top in the fast and furious session.
It was Byrne that was able to make it stick, however, setting a blisteringly fast 1:33:933s lap which sealed his place on pole position for race one which will take place later today.
O'Halloran, Mossey and Ellison will make second row, with Cooper, Hopkins and Linfoot completing the third.
