As reported in MCN:

Faith in British Talent helped Darren Heward win the opening round of the MCN Fantasy Road Race competition, run in association with MCE Insurance, the UK's No.1 bike insurer.

Monster Yamaha Tech 3 Team Rider Cal Crutchlow's phenomenal start to the new 1000cc MotoGP era with a career first front row start and stunning fourth place in the Qatar night race helped Heward collect a set of Pirelli tyres.

Three brilliant podiums and two pole positions in the opening four World Superbike races from Tom Sykes on the vastly improved Kawasaki ZX-10R also proved a canny selection from Heward, who enjoyed an equally successful start in the MCE British Superbike series.

Thruxton race 1 winner Ian Lowry was one of his picks, as was Jon Kirkham, who kicked off the new season in winning fashion at Brands Hatch to help Heward amass an impressive 284 points - eight more than his nearest rival.

Sonia Denton was another happy MCN reader delighted with the form of her MCE BSB choices. She picked Padgetts Honda rider Lowry and Aussie Josh Brookes, who won the second race at Thruxton. Their combined score of 105 points ensured she scopped a pair of tickets for a future MCE BSB round.
