Local youngster given the chance to shine

MCE Insurance

MCE Insurance launched their Social Enterprise Scheme earlier this year which aims to offer local young people a way into work. Targeting individuals whose personal situations have made it difficult for them to find work, MCE aim to help these job seekers by giving them opportunities that will let them shine. Recently the scheme gave Frances Tebbutt the chance to come along and work with the Club MCE Team at Oulton Park for round 3 of MCE BSB.

Initially Frances visited MCE HQ for a meeting with Group Chief Executive, Julian Edwards. From the off he was impressed by her communication skills and confidence and also discovered she had a passion for motorbikes, with that in mind Frances was linked up with the marketing team and became a member of the Club MCE team for a full race weekend of MCE BSB. Frances was fully kitted out in MCE colours and shadowed members of the team throughout the weekend. She helped out with running Club MCE experiences including pillion laps and safety car laps, manned the MCE stand and gave members their lanyards, took part in pit walks and grid walks looking after club members as well as keeping an eye on Big Ed and the Smilers! Not only that but she got to meet her idol, superbike rider Jenny Tinmouth, the fastest woman around the TT. Frances really did a fantastic job and loved the experience.

Julian commented after the weekend, "The MCE Social Enterprise scheme is something I'm very passionate about. Giving local young people the chance to experience something different and help them grow into well rounded individuals. Frances was an asset to the team over the race weekend at Oulton Park, she showed passion, commitment and maturity and hopefully this experience has given her the tools she needs to find her perfect job." He added, "Myself and the MCE team wish Frances all the best for the future and look forward to seeing how her career develops."
