MCE Insurance strengthens gender parity credentials with two senior appointments

MCE Insurance has made another step towards fulfilling its gender parity ambitions with two new appointments to the leadership team. 

Malgorzata Zakrzewska, currently Head of Finance, has been appointed Company Secretary.

Having joined MCE in 2006 as a Customer Service Assistant, Zakrzewska moved through a series of finance roles, first as a Finance Assistant and ultimately as Head of Finance before this most recent promotion. 

She will be responsible for managing and maintaining all levels of corporate governance within MCE and overseeing the efficient administration of the company, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements and ensuring that decisions of the board of directors are implemented. 

She retains her existing responsibilities as Head of Finance.

Julian Edwards, CEO of MCE, said: “Malgorzata brings a huge amount of experience and expertise to this role.

“As we expand our offering and embark on the next stage of our growth strategy, the role of Company Secretary becomes ever more important. 

“Malgorzata will play an essential role in facilitating the smooth running of our board-level operations as we take the next steps in our expansion plans. I am delighted she has accepted this responsibility.”

In addition, Executive Assistant to the CEO, Dee Modha, has been promoted to the MCE leadership team after more than 12 years at the business. Modha joined as a Sales Advisor in 2008 before taking on a series of management roles in sales and claims.

Edwards commented: “Dee has been a great asset to MCE over the years and the breadth of roles she has had in that time means she knows our business inside out and will be a very strong addition to the leadership team. 

“The progression of both Dee and Malgorzata is testament to their talent and determination to progress but also to MCE’s ability to attract talent, develop and progress our people. 

“It gives me great pride to see two individuals who have focused on their training and development, reach the top of their profession with MCE.”

The appointments of both Malgorzata and Dee are effective immediately and further strengthen MCE’s commitment to gender equality. In 2020, the company reported a zero gender pay gap for the second consecutive year.
