Norton on the up

British motorbike manufacturer Norton is expanding once again. They move into their new headquarters Hastings House; which is part of Donington Hall, this week. The new headquarters will house the production line, servicing, offices and the design department, all of which are moving from their Donington Park unit. The Norton owned Spondon Engineering will remain at the unit but is also set to expand.

The move will mean that the factory servicing and production can speed up and be more efficient as they will have their own areas to work in. The company aim to keep that hand built quality on their bikes, from initial production right through to servicing.

Norton CEO Stuart Garner said, "We want to make the factory servicing just as good as it possibly can be but we have had some delays in getting bikes serviced because it's such a seasonal thing. We are working on making sure we can move people between production and servicing side so there is always a flow of each."

Norton is currently expanding its worldwide network of bikes, they ship to Japan, Canada, Europe, America and have just added Australia to the list. It's great to see British motorbike manufacturing back on the world stage with such force.
